Today's Cargo Jewelry and Gifts Store, Old Town Alexandria, VA

Love this place! The ladies are so genuine and helpful. It is the one jewelry establishment where I don't feel like they are there to force sales on me. I can look around and buy nothing without a sales pitch or an "attack". Sometimes, I come in on a mission and they will spend two hours with me to find EXACTLY what I want, allowing me to try items I choose and hunting down those I haven't seen. Often, they find the right piece for me over my choices. I go to them first, before purchasing online, now, because I always leave their store brilliantly happy with a new sparkly and for far less than I would have spent online for lesser quality. They have vintage pieces that are incredible from fashion to platinum, and new pieces for all ages in standard styles and many exquisite designs that I would never see in a chain store. They have appraised family inheritances, giving me history of the piece, what it would currently sell for, while offering to clean it and an opportunity to find a buyer. I adore this store and those working there. I HIGHLY recommend a visit for all price ranges, whether you are just window shopping, looking for bead, fashion, vintage, new, silver, gold, gems... this is your store. If they don't have it, which is not usually likely, they will order it for you or refer you to a store they know carries the item for which you are specifically looking. Thank you, ladies!

Carla and the folks at Today's Cargo were great for me. I needed an engagement ring special ordered with a quick turn around and they made it happen. Very helpful throughout the process and loved the finished product. My fiancé also came here to get my ring after and was happy with his service too, we can't recommend TC enough!

Today's Cargo is deceptively casual and "bling-ey" on the outside, but once you get inside and take a look at their stock you will quickly realize that the jewelry is high quality and the selection is quite diverse. Donna (the owner) and Carla are particularly friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I had two wedding rings (same husband, long story), one with a white diamond and one with a canary (yellow) diamond. I had a vision of resetting the stones in a platinum setting with the white diamond in the center flanked by two yellows: which would require finding a new matching yellow diamond. I took the rings to a very high-end jewelry store which found a match after 10 months & told me the stone alone - just under one carat -- would run $10,000. What??? I then took the rings to Donna, who found me a match in 2 months, set the stones & charged me less than $5,000 for the stone, the setting & the labor. It is stunning! I have since bought quite a few things, and highly recommend their work.

Outstanding service with great selections and reasonable prices, particularly in comparison to other, much more costly Old Town Alexandria jewelers. Carla has been patient, creative and supportive in designing jewelry that fits my style, and resetting inherited diamonds into a beautiful new necklace and ring. Bravo! Two thumbs, way up!! All the staff are delightful and helpful.

Words cannot express how wonderful Today's Cargo is!! My family has been a loyal customer of the store since my parents moved to the area decades ago. Whether shopping for a special occasion gift or seeking repair work on an item, Today's Cargo is a go-to. The pieces in the store are lovely and range significantly in terms of price (in addition to larger-ticket items including wedding rings, diamond earrings, etc. they also sell trendy costume jewelry and accessories!), so there are generally items for everyone! There are a lot of fun and interesting pieces in the store. The most notable element of the store, however, are the staff. I can think of countless times my dad and I would go into the store when I was a young girl and Carla and Donna would help my dad pick out pieces for my mom (and would even let me put the bow on the box so that I felt like a part of the experience!). Could not recommend highly enough. 3
